Everybody needs a value wine in their life. Instead, we reach for some of our trusty favorites that never seem to let us down. Of course sometimes you need to shake up those favorites and we recently discovered two wines that need to be in your value rotation. The Bellula wines come to us from importer Philippe Bourgeois and his portfolio of little gems. They are produced in the Languedoc region of Southwest France, a locale known for it’s values in wine. We just received our first shipment of these wines and they are as good as we remember them to be when tasting them a few months back. The Chardonnay is bright and crisp with a nose of fresh white flower, white peach and green apple. Ripe fruit on the palate is balanced with crisp acidity on the finish to keep this white light and fresh. This is refreshing and gulpable wine that is perfect for relaxing with after a long day at work. They also produce a Pinot Noir that is truly a steal. Bight ripe red fruit jumps out on the nose with hints of spice and dried flowers. A juicy mid palate gives way to a classic old world finish and lightness. Keep this one just lightly chilled and it will jump out of the glass!
